The Michelle M. Vasenda Nursing Scholarship was created by Michelle M. Vasenda, a 31 yr career RN and Home Health Care Administrator. She lost her courageous battle with breast cancer in August of 2009. Michelle was an incredibly special person. She loved her family and friends with a passion. Michelle battled her breast cancer head on.
The disease may have taken her, but it never defeated her. Michelle lived her life by the motto �helping those that help others� She was truly an inspiration to everyone whose lives she touched. This scholarship is for students that are applying to or are currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program. The applicant must have a 3.0 GPA and must have completed a substantial amount of community service with a cancer-related organization. The amount of community service is at the discretion of the applicant but applicants should be advised that this will weigh heavily on the decision of the selection committee. The scholarship money awarded may be applied towards tuition and/or other college related expenses.
